Eleanor Mildred DeVorss' Obituary
Eleanor Mildred DeVorss was born on May 26, 1915 in Elko, Nevada to William & Viola (Burge) Schultz.
She died on March 20, 2013 at a St. Helens care center at the age of 97.
Eleanor attended and graduated from Nampa, Idaho High School in 1935. On October 30, 1937 she married Roy Dvorss in Portland, Oregon. He preceded her in death in 1976.
They lived in Pendleton where she owned the Pendleton Craft & Hobbie store from 1977-1987. She moved to Columbia City in 1999 to be closer to her daughters.
She was active in the 1st Christian Church in Pendleton as well as the Methodist Church in St. Helens. She was a member of the Woodman of the World, the Pendleton Garden Club, and Pendleton art activites. Her interests included art & crafts, gardening, painting, and bird watching.
Survivors include: Daughters: Laura Lee Phillips and Lynn Calhoun both of Columbia City; Sister: Ella Slaughter of Payson, Arizona; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; Preceded in death Husband, 2 brothers: John & Wilber Schultz, 2 sisters: Nina Friedly & Betty Helvy; grandson: Mark T. Phillips.
Private family graveside service & interment: Olney Cemetery-Pendleton, Oregon later in the summer.
