I was fortunate to have had Mrs. Grady as my fourth grade teacher at John Gumm Elementary School. She was very patient and kind. Sometimes on weekends, my friends and I would stop by her house and she would always invite us in. Mrs. Grady was my 1st grade teacher at John Gumm, she was my 1st teacher and I always remember her fondly even after all these years. Having not been to kindergarten you had to pay back then I had trouble remembering to include the number "8" when counting to ten. She took a top off a soda can that looked like a figure "8" and put a string on it and gave it to me to remember the "8" when counting. Never forgot it after that. She was a great teacher!
