Ellen Kay Thorne's Obituary
Ellen Kay Thorne, age 85, of Toledo, WA, peacefully passed away on July 9, 2024. Born in Havre, MT on August 6, 1938, Ellen was a devoted servant of God whose life exemplified unwavering faith and love of her family.
Ellen found great fulfillment and purpose in her role as a pastor’s wife, serving alongside her husband Reverend Curtis Wyatt and later in the church as members with her husband Everett Thorne. Her commitment to her church extended beyond her role as she participated in various ministries, offering compassion and support to those in need. Ellen’s love for the Lord was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her to follow Jesus.
Ellen cherished her adventures exploring the United States, enjoying road trips to visit monuments and landmarks with family. She enjoyed reading and had a passion for music. It was evident through her skillful playing of the piano, bringing joy to those around her.
Ellen is survived by her beloved husband Everett Thorne, sisters Marion Pifer and Joan Vanderhoff, Children Diana Duncan and Bradley Wyatt, 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren who were a source of pride and happiness for her. She was predeceased by her first husband Reverend Curtis Walter Wyatt, her son Curtis Wayne Wyatt, and her grandson Eddie Bibler.
A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at Rainier Assembly of God on August 17, 2024, at 2:30 PM, followed by a reception with cake and beverages. Ellen’s life will be remembered as a testament to faith, family and the joy of serving others. Her legacy of faithfulness and kindness will continue to inspire all those who knew her.
