Elsie Bernice Sorem's Obituary
Elsie Bernice Sorem was born on January 31, 1932 in St. Johns, OR. to John & Ruth Marcy Riley.
She died at a care facilty in Vancouver, WA. on August 22, 2006 at the age of 74.
She moved to St. Helens when she was young, attending McBride school. She moved to Ridgefield, WA. in 1962, returning in 1969. She has spent her last ten years in the Ridgefield, Vancouver area.
She married Clarence Sorem on November 9, 1975 in Reno, Nevada.
He preceded her in death.
She was a school administrator for the St. Helens School District for 15 years.
Her main interest were gardening and her family. She loved to do geneology.
She was a member of First Christian Church in St. Helens, D.A.R. & V.F.W.
Survivors include: Children: Vicki Wait of Skamania, WA.; Barbara Brooks of Battle Ground, WA.; Rita Kearsley of Ridgefield, WA.; David & Karen Martin of Mesa, AZ.; stepdaughter: Ellen Maitland of Wilsonville, OR.; Brothers: James & Jerry Riley of St. Helens; Sister: Rachel Runyan of St. Helens; Violet Young of Albany, OR.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by children: Timothy Johnston Denise Shrull; Siblings: Virginia Renwick, John Riley.
