Elva Miles Mitchell's Obituary
Elva Miles Mitchell graduated peacefully to be with her Lord on June 17, 2005 at the age of 91. She was born on August 15, 1913 in McCrackin, Missouri to James and Martha Rozell Brumley.
At the age of 18 Elva came to Oregon as the new bride of Ted T. Miles. Ted was a paint contractor in St. Helens for 30+ years. He preceded her in death.
Elva then married George Mitchell, an old highschool sweetheart from Southwest City, Missouri. They had 10 years together, before he also preceded her in death.
Elva is survived by four daughters: Melva Jean Eldridge of St. Helens, OR; Geraldine Bogardus of Hillsboro, OR; Nancy Smith of Yuma, AZ; and Billie J. Boyd of Santa Rosa, CA; two sons: Ted Miles of Portland, OR and Rick Miles of Spokane, WA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents; 9 brothers and sisters; 5 half siblings and 1 grandaughter.
Elva was an awesome cook, and will most be remembered for the wonderful meals she enjoyed making for others.
A private family graveside and vault interment was in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Warren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Meadows Assisted Living or St. Helens Senior Center.
