Erwin J. Sheppard's Obituary
Erwin J. Sheppard was born on February 18, 1932 in Aurora, UT. to Charles & Reefey Christiansen Sheppard.
He died at at St. Helens care center on September 19, 2004 at the age of 72.
He was educated at the University of Utah, was in the Army in Japan during WWII with communications.
He married Kathleen in Elso, NV. on May 19, 1954.
He worked with the first T.V. station in Utah to have a color transmitter. He worked for Unisys Electronics Co. as a managing engineer testing missles, he retired at age 55. After retirement he had a 40 acre hay ranch in Utah where he boarded & trained horses. The last 5 years he had a clock repair shop.
They moved to Beavercreek, OR. in '91 from Park City, Utah and then to Scappoose in '96.
He was a member of the LDS church, the Moose Lodge, Columbia Morgan Horseman, Rocky Mountain Horse Club and the Morgan Horse Association of Oregon.
His interests included Morgan horses, gardening, camping and early on hunting, fishing and sailboating.
Survivors include: Wife: Kathleen Sheppard of Scappoose, OR.; Daughters: Julia Sheppard of Lake Oswego, OR.; Eva Baker of Scappoose, OR.; Sons: Michael Sheppard of Salt Lake City, UT.; Stephen Sheppard of Williamstown, Massachusetts; 7 grandchildren.
