Esther was a wonderful friend and neighbor to Kurt's parents, Herb and Alta, for many years. We will remember her fondly, including the birthday cakes she made, and her warm, down to earth nature which embodied motherhood. Oh, my dear friend Esther! There are few people who come into your life that leave such a lasting impression. Esther and Ken are such people. Ken was my first boss at BCC in the payroll dept. in the 60's. He and Esther helped me and my three children at a time when I really needed help, even though they had a houseful of children themselves. I already mentioned to John the fond memories that I have of Aunt Esther, who very graciously opened her home to me back in the late '70s when I attended Concordia Portland. I especially remember spending the entire spring break of '78 there, and hanging out with George, Will and Maria. I remember coming in the house once, and there was Aunt Esther darning my socks! What a great lady! My family always looked forward to hearing from her at Xmas time. Sounds like this year she got to spend Xmas in the church triumphant. What a great reunion for her, your dad, and our Savior. My prayer is that you find comfort in the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
