Eugene J. Elder's Obituary
Eugene J. Elder was born on December 20, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Albert & Emma Erhardt Elder.
He died at a Portland hospital on August 7, 2006 at the age of 75.
He attended schools in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He met and married Patricia Claire Mahon on June 9, 1949 in Papillion, Nebraska. In 1953 he moved his young family to Scappoose, OR. and later to St. Helens where he resided until his death. His wife Pat preceded him in death in 1998.
He owned and operated Luigis Pizza Parlor in Rainier for 16 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church and very big into the St. Helens Little League program. In 1970 he won an appreciation award for 15 years of service.
Survivors include: Sons: Tim Elder of Soldatna, Alaska; Randy Elder of St. Helens; Cindy Haldorson & Sherry Baker; both of Beaverton, OR.; Siblings Harold Elder of St. Helens; Don Elder of Piaole, CA.; Frank Elder of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Frederic Catholic Church-St. Helens
