Evearld "Evie" Ogan's Obituary
Preceded in death by daughter Patty Jean Ogan, husband James Keith Ogan, and sister Pauline Baack.
Survived by her two sons, Jim Ogan and Dale Ogan; granddaughters Lacy Ogan and Kelly Jones; great-grandchildren, Autzen, Mason and Gracie.
Evie was the daughter of Max and Laura Alschlager.
Evie married the love of her life Quarter Master Chief James Keith Ogan in San Francisco, CA. Keith was stationed in several bases in the US, but Evie had very fond memories of her time in Key West, FL. In 1959, Evie and Keith moved, settled, and remained in St. Helens in the home they built together. Evie was an avid quilter and had several ribbons from the Columbia County Fair. She loved to tend to her garden, stray cats, the Atlanta Braves, Oregon Ducks Football team, and her family and friends. On Evie’s 90th Birthday she went on a cruise and returned to Key West for a visit. Evie’s life was a novel with her as the heroine, through tragedy, triumph, and a true zest for life.
There will be a memorial service held in Evie’s honor Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10:00am at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon. Please call son Dale at 503-780-3434 or son Jim at 503-740-3453 as there will be limited attendance. A private family inurnment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Columbia County Humane Society. Please sign our online guestbook at www.columbiafh.com
