Evelyn L. Hoffmann's Obituary
Evelyn L. Hoffmann was born on September 29, 1924 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Francis & Zella May Geist Darr.
She died at a Portland hospital on April 6, 2010 at the age of 85.
She was raised and graduated from Hanibal, Missouri High School in 1942. After high school she moved to Seaside/Cannon Beach area living there until 1959 when she moved to Scappoose.
She married Sylvester Si Hoffmann on October 16, 1945 in Seaside, Oregon, he preceded her in death in 1989.
She worked as a retail clerk and participated in baseball, golf and bowling. During WWII she was a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, described in the 1992 Penny Marshall film A League of Thier Own.
Survivors include: Children: Richard Hoffman; Carolyn Marsh, Patsy Corkill; Siblings: Sue Wilburn; Larry & Delbert Darr; 8 grandchildren; preceded in death by husband: Si, Brother: Myron, Sister: Twila.
