Obituary of Evelyn May LAPPING
Evelyn May LAPPING passed away at St. Helens, Oregon, Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was 97.
Born May 28, 1912 at Baudette, Minnesota to Martin Gregor Bogestad and Edith Flint, she was one of eight children. She attended grade school in Pitt, Minnesota, married her husband Robert W. Lapping May 9th, 1936 in International Falls, MN and lived in Minneapolis, before moving to the St. Helens area in October 1948. A homemaker that enjoyed her family, cooking and especially baking. Evelyn loved the outdoors, she was often seen hunting for deer and elk and had her fishing pole dipping for salmon and local trout. After her husband retired they enjoyed traveling, Oregon locally as well as returning to Minnesota. She spent time with her daughter Bonnie 3 month of the year in Nevada for several years until 2008 when her health declined. Traveling with her daughter Sharon, she loved her visits to the casinos where she played the slots. "She was the "Best mom" as Sharon shared, "A mother above all."
She is survived by her children; Tom Lapping of St. Helens, Sharon Riggs of St. Helens, and Bonnie Phillips of Fernley, NV, Brother; Bill McAnnany of St. Helens, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and son Doug.
