Evertt Lawrence Briley
Evertt Briley was born August 28, 1980 in St. Helens, Oregon, and passed away May 10, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. Evertt is survived by his mate, Stasha Loosli and their children, Grant and Braden of St. Helens, his father; Delbert Dwayne Briley of Rainier, his brother; Dwayne and his wife Kathy of St. Helens, and his grandmother; Amber Lestiko of Augusta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his mother; Joan Barbara Lestiko Briley.
Evertt attended Goble Elementary and completed his junior year at Rainier High School. As a youth he loved riding motorcycles and playing football with his brother and neighborhood friends. He spent one summer in Alaska working in a fish cannery.
Evertt liked to build things and became a gifted carpenter. He started digging holes at the age of 16 and built pole barns. He achieved his building contractor's license at the age of 19 and started building tract and custom homes in the Portland Area. At the time of his death, he was employed as a construction superintendent by ServPro of Hillsboro, Oregon a fire and water cleanup and restoration company for commercial and residential buildings completing remodels for insurance claims.
Friends remember Evertt's sense of humor and his love for country western music, especially Johnny Cash. He welcomed friends and family in his home and reached out to those who needed a helping hand or a job. His two boys and Stasha were his life- trips to the beach, playing with his sons; golfing and camping were favorite past times. Evertt loved his work and family. He leaves a legacy of strong family ties and friendships.
Funeral Services will be held at the Columbia Funeral Home in St.Helens, Oregon on May 15, 2009 at 11:00 am. His vault internment will be at the Koble Cemetery in Goble, Oregon.
