Florence Viola Dryden's Obituary
Florence Viola Dryden was born on August 22, 1926, In Los Banos, California, to Frank Walsh and Mary Tehara Walsh. She was their 7th child of 11 children. She married William (Bill) Burkett, and they had 3 children, William (Bill) Burkett Jr. (Evelyn), Diana Rice (Lanny), and Pam Carpenter (Joseph). After moving to Nevada, she met and married the love of her life Henry Edward Dryden in 1964, and had 2 more children Phyllis White (Ronald) & Edward Dryden. Florence and Ed moved to St. Helen’s, Oregon in 1966 to be closer to her sisters Irene and Cookie (Katherine). She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and watching old movies. She was a member of St. Frederic’s Catholic Church and enjoyed attending mass and other events with her sisters. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law Diana & Lanny Rice in Warren, Oregon. She is survived by 4 of her children, 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, her son Edward Dryden and 5 grandchildren. Florence had a blessed life for 98 years.
Her services will be held at St. Frederic Catholic Church on November 16, 2024 at 10AM, graveside services to follow at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose, OR. Lunch will be provided at the Best Western St. Helens, OR at 12pm by the family.
