Floyd Kent Mullett's Obituary
Floyd Mullett, beloved son, brother and uncle, sadly lost his battle with esophageal cancer and passed away at his St. Helens, Oregon home. He was 66 years old.
He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon to James and Helen Mullett. His father’s job required several family moves in Oregon and Alaska before Floyd graduated high school in Salem, Oregon and immediately enlisted in the Navy. He served most of his six years assigned to the USS Guitarro (SSN-665) nuclear submarine.
After his discharge from the military, Floyd was hired by PGE working at the Trojan Nuclear Plant until the plant’s closure and then he continued his long and successful career with the company until his recent retirement.
Floyd is survived by his mother, Helen Mullett; older brother James Mullett Jr. (Mary); younger sister Susan Mullett; niece, Mandy Mullett Burton (Gene); nephew, David Mullett (Jackie); great nieces, Olivia, Gracie, and Norah Mullett; and cousin, George Souza. He is predeceased by his father, James Mullett, Sr.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family thanks his friends, especially Angela Gaines and Carl Volineki, for their loving support during his courageous battle with cancer.
At Floyd’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. The family invites you to make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Floyd’s honor.
