Frances Oleta Ahlborn's Obituary
Frances O. Ahlborn, 95, of St. Helens died Tuesday January 15, 2013 in St. Helens.
Frances was born the daughter of Albert and Nettie (Mayberry) Ridenour in Adair County, Oklahoma. She was raised in Oklahoma and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1935.
She was married to A. J. Ahlborn on November 19, 1936 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They moved to St. Helens in 1952. For several years she worked with her husband as a flagger for his logging business. She later operated “Frances Fancies” a boutique in St. Helens. She enjoyed various clubs in St. Helens including the Zenith Club, the Quarter Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Garden Club. With the garden club she helped with the beautification projects along Columbia Hwy of which the club won awards. She attended the Grace Baptist Church.
Frances loved playing cards especially Pinochle and raising her Boston Bull Terriers; Patty and Cricket. She was also a big supporter of her granddaughter’s high school activities.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law Thalene and John Hebeisen of Columbia City, three granddaughters Judy and Alan Wyatt of Johns Creek Georgia, Kimberly and H Freeland of Scappoose and Kellie and Curt Scholl of Keizer. Great grandchildren; John, Michael, and Will Wyatt; Alyssa and Harrison Freeland; Taylor, Joe, AJ, and Katheryn Scholl. Also by Cricket the Boston Bull Terrier. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Columbia Funeral Home with vault interment following at Columbia Memorial Gardens.
