Frances E. Corsiglia's Obituary
Frances Eugenie Corsiglia was born May 5, 1921 at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon to Joseph A. Neisz and Ethel Neisz.
She went home to Valsetz, Oregon, where she lived until age nine when her father died of pneumonia. She then moved to her grandmother's home on Kerby Street in north Portland, where she lived with her sister, her mom, her grandmother, and her great-grandmother.
As her Mom moved to find work, Frances lived in San Francisco, Bend, and finally St. Helens, Oregon, where she lived with her aunt, and finished high school.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Barbara Brown and her husband, John, Carol Wrolstad and her husband Dwight, and Joe Corsiglia and his wife Debi. Also surviving her is her sister, Janet. Frances has five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Frances married Frank Anthony Corsiglia in St. Helens at the original St. Frederic's church on June 20th, 1942.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, who died in 1984, and a daughter, Jean Marie Corsiglia, who died in 1953.
Frances enjoyed many different crafts over the years, including ceramics and knitting. She had an amazing way with plants, and could make anything grow. Her family was her focus, though, and the most important thing in her life.
She was employed by Boise Cascade Corporation in St. Helens for seventeen years, as well as being involved in some small jobs after she retired.
Frances was a member of St. Frederic's Parish in St. Helens.
The rosary will be said at St. Frederic's Parish on Friday, February 4th at 7:00 PM, and The Mass of Christian Burial will take place also at St. Frederic's Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 5th. Mass will be followed by a reception at the church hall, and then vault interment at Columbia Memorial Gardens.
