Frances M. "Muriel" Ridenour
Born: October 27, 1924, Cowlington, Oklahoma to Albert I. and Gussie Holeman O'Bar.
Died: January 17, 2009 at her son's home in St. Helens.
Muriel graduated from Central High School, Muskogee, Oklahoma in the class of 1942. Muriel was married to Glenn Ridenour on July 29, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Muriel was a journeyman welder in the Bay area shipyards in WWII. Following Glenn's return from the South Pacific after the war they move to St. Helens in 1946.
Muriel was the founding member of the Quarter Club; life member of the Mizpah No. 30, Order of the Eastern Star; loved flowers, gardening, and her granddaughters.
Survivors include, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Catherine Ridenour, granddaughters: Laura, Catherine, and Meghan Ridenour; sister-in-law, Frances Ahlborn and brother-in-law, Bill Ridenour both of St. Helens and numerous nieces and nephews.
Muriel was preceded in death by a son, William A. Ridenour who died in Vietnam in 1968, and her husband Glenn Ridenour, who died in May of 1999 and her brother Jack O'Bar.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday January 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Presbyterian Church.
