Fred L. Diess' Obituary
Fred L. Diess was born on April 10, 1926 in Rogue River, OR. to Henry & Stella Hulen Diess.
He died on February 20, 2005 at his home in Scappoose at the age of 78.
He was educated in Rogue River, OR.; married to Betty on June 5, 1948 in Roseburg, OR., then again for their 50th anniversary in '98 at Grace Lutheran Church in Scappoose, OR.
He lived in Portland for most of his working life. They moved to Scappoose in 1975.
He was employed in the trucking industry all of his life working for O.N.C.Oregon, Nevada, California Fast Freight for 28 years, McClain Trucking and Columbia Freightway, his last job was a supervisor for Silver Eagle Trucking for 10 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Scappoose, and the Warren Grange.
His enjoyements included fishing, woodworking, outdoors and camping, but most his family, he was loved by all. There was nobody better at loving, listening, fixing and just being there for his wife, Betty, the love of his life for 56+ years.
Survived by: Wife: Betty Diess of Scappoose; Children: Fred Diess, Jr. of St. Helens; Jim Diess of Summerville, S. Carolina; Starla Gebie of Scappoose; Ron Diess of Scappoose; Bonnie Brown of Hillsboro; Sister: June Diess of Rogue River, OR.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church-Scappoose, OR.
Committal Service & Vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens.
