G. Lance Iiams' Obituary
G. Lance Iiams was born on July 11, 1947 in Oregon City, Oregon to Howard & Lueta White Iiams.
He died at a St. Helens nursing home on April 19, 2009 at the age of 61.
He lived in Oregon until the age of 5 and moved to Alaska, graduating from W. Anchorage High School in 1965. He was in the service in the U.S. Navy. He went on to become a police officer for the city of Anchorage for 15 years, retiring in 1988.
He married Laura Broy in Anchorage in 1980, they lived in Anchorage until moving to Long Beach 20 years ago. While in Long Beach he worked for Pacific Realty in property management.
He was a Christian, a member of the Beach Barons Car Club and was very proud of his 1974 Chevy Pickup-"Baby". He was also a great pen & ink artist, drawings of very detailed birds, he also has drawn the wall of cars in Long Beach which the car club dedicated to him.
Survivors include: Wife: Laura Iiams of Long Beach; son: Gregory Iiams of Fresno, CA.; stepson: Bill Kelly of Portland; in-laws: Tammy Workman, Leonard & Bob Roy, Cece Swanson; several nieces & nephews.
