Gail L. Clopton March 9, 1922 ~ February 17, 2016
Gail L. Clopton, 93, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2016 and went home to be with the Lord. She lived a good and full life and will be missed by all who knew her. Born March 9, 1922, she was raised by AJ and Bertha Lien and grew up in Fargo, North Dakota.
She started work as a secretary in 1942. She worked for the government, transferring to Veterans Hospital in Helena, Montana. She then transferred to Fort George Wright in Spokane, Washington. She later worked for Birdseye in Hillsboro, Atkins Saw Division in Portland and retired at the age of 72 after 11 years with the American Diabetes Association.
She married Clair C. Clopton in March 1946 and they divorced in 1952. Mr. Clopton died in 1957.
Gail is survived by her two sons, Michael (wife Gayle) and Clair (partner Linda Bolen). She is also survived by her granddaughter Denise (husband Rob Crouse) and their two children Jenna and Ian, and her grandson Kevin (wife Brandy) and their two children Talya and Sasha.
Memorial Service to be held on March 9, 2016 at 1:00PM at Wilhem’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home, located 6705 SE 14th Ave (and Bybee), Portland.
