Gary Clyde Beveridge's Obituary
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held, 2PM, Thursday, November 17th at Warren Community Fellowship. Gary passed away November 6th relating to his Esophageal Cancer. He was 70 years old.
Gary was born, October 23, 1941 in Starbauch, Minnesota to William John and Dorothy Helen Winegarden Beveridge, the 4th of 11 children. The family moved to Portland in 1943 where he was raised.
Gary was a golden Glove contender and a gymnast graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1960. He married Gail Marie Ingram July 29, 1967 in Portland.
Gary worked for Gunderson's, Georgia Pacific, Crown Zellerbaugh, retiring as a Supervisor and Shop Stewart in 2003 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Inlandboatman's Union of the Pacific Columbia River Division
Gary moved to Warren 39 years ago from the St. John's area. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, duck hunting and bird watching. He was a member of Duck's Unlimited, an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed his sports following the Minnesota Vikings, U of O Ducks and the Portland Trailblazers. An animal lover he had many dogs and cats, and was known to be a caring, loving man and a diehard Democrat.
Gary is survived by his wife of 45 years; Gail, children; Belinda and husband Mark Kemp of St. Helens, Glenda and husband Chris Oslin of Scappoose and son, Brian and wife Shayla, grandchildren; Dakota Kemp, Christian Oslin and Nicholas Beveridge, siblings; John Beveridge of Portland, Betty Deulen of Washougal, Kraig Beveridge of Scappoose, Gail Weber of Seattle, Karen Weber of Vancouver, WA, Jill Mitchell of Hillsboro, Sherry Andrews of Corbett and Dennis Beveridge of Vancouver, WA, numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by son Gary Scott in 1971 and siblings; Kay Hower and Michael Beveridge.
