Obituary of Gary Dean Super
A gathering of family and friends will occur, 1-3pm, Saturday, January 21st at the home of Gail Super, 2488 SE Jasmine Way, Gresham, OR 503-663-5355. Graveside Service and Military Honors will be, 10am, Monday, January 23rd at Willamette National Cemetery. Mr. Super passed away at his home in St. Helens on January 16th; he was 63 years of age.
Mr. Gary Dean Super was born on December 30, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Kenneth Alvin and Shirley Maude Olson Super. Gary was the eldest of three children. Raised in Portland he graduated from Franklin High School, class of 1966. Gary enlisted into the United States Army on February 21st of 1967 and served until February 20th of 1970. While serving he was stationed in Vietnam where he saw combat. Gary received the Bronze Star for bravery, acts of merit, valor and heroism. Gary later joined the United States Air Force and served from April 18, 1973 until January 6, 1977 being honorable discharged as a Staff Sergeant. While serving in Japan he met and later married Margo Mohun Bernard on February 2nd of 1976 in Sapporo Japan. Gary went to work for Burlington Northern Air Freight after the service until1990 when he left to work for Evergreen International as a systems logistic technician traveling the globe setting up airfields for the company until 1996. Gary then went out on his own and operated his own air freight service company. In 2007 the family moved from the Beaverton Aloha area to St. Helens.
Gary is survived by his wife, Margo, children; Kenneth Super and Tiffany Anning, grandchildren; Kelsay & Cody Anning, sisters; Gail Super and Debbie Cook and his Uncle Don Super.
