Genevieve Ellen Vincent

Genevieve Ellen Vincent, a former resident of Columbia County, and most recently, Portland, passed away on August 11, 2016 at Providence Portland Medical Center. She was 80.
She was born November 29, 1935 to Lawrence Francis Malloy and Agnes Genevieve (Smith) Malloy in Arcata, California. She spent her early years in Eureka, California before moving to Eugene, and then Portland. She graduated from Grant High School in 1953.
She met the love of her life, Richard Vincent, after being set up on a blind date. They were married on October 22, 1954, and were together 47-1/2 years before he passed away in 2002.
She worked for J.C. Penney for many years, and later, US Bank. She was a member of Rose City Park Presbyterian Church and the Rose Center for Seniors. She enjoyed Bingo, gospel music, watching NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters Ellen Mueller (Paul) of Oregon City and Victoria Waldrep (Mike) of Portland; sisters Marilyn Howell (Bill) of Citrus Heights, California, Linda Malloy of Reno and Claudia McKnight of Petaluma, California; brothers Larry Malloy (Nancy) of Kodiak, Alaska and Glen Bayley (Laurie) of Tigard; grandchildren Jennifer Mueller of Oregon City, Richard Vincent-Chenea of Portland, and Jesse Waldrep of Portland; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing, followed by private burial, will be held on Friday, August 19th, from 10-11 a.m. at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 22nd, 2:00 p.m., at Columbia Funeral Home.
