George M. McGlinn's Obituary
George M. McGlinn was born on February 17, 1919 in Babcock, Wisconsin to James & Tillie Myer McGlinn.
He died at a St. Helens nursing home on February 11, 2009 at the age of 89.
He moved to St. Helens from Alaska at the age of 7, living here since. He graduated from St. Helens High School in 1937 and attended Willamette University for 3 years. He married Dorothy Goodman in 1941 in Vancouver, WA. and entered into the Army in 1942 until being discharged in 1945. They were married for 61 years when she preceded him in death in 2002.
He was a postman for the US Postal Service in St. Helens from June 29, 1946 until he retired on June 30, 1977.
He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and the VFW. His interests included, early on football and until unable, golf. He was and avid sports fan and enjoyed trout fishing.
Survivors include: Daughters: Michelyn Hahn of Warrenton, OR.; Jan Renzelman of Eastsound, WA.; 2 nieces, 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery-Scappoose, OR. on Saturday, 2/14/09 at 11:00 AM.
