George P. Ricker, Jr.'s Obituary
George P. Ricker Jr. was born on October 12, 1937 in St. Helens, OR. to George P. Sr. & Mary Boyt Ricker.
He died at his home in St. Helens on June 29, 2006 at the age of 78.
He married Marie Colsen on December 5, 1953 in Stevenson, WA.
He worked for the Government over 30 years. 28 years with the Corp of Engineers. His first job was a deck hand on the Dredge Biddle, then going on to be the launch operator for the John Miller, then the skipper of both the Robert Gray & last the Norman Bray, retiring due to health problems.
He was in the Merchant Marines Army transport & the Army.
He was a member of the Elks, American Legion and the VFW.
Survivors include: Wife: Marie of 52 1/2 years, of St. Helens; Daughters & son-in-laws: Roxanne & Loren Anderson of St. Helens; Ranae & Jeffrey Kotka of Scappoose; Son: William Shane Ricker of St. Helens; 5 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters.
Celebration of Life: Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church.
