Geraldine (Geri) Elizabeth Berg February 21, 1936 ~ February 13, 2018
Geraldine (Geri) Berg was born on February 21, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She died on February 13, 2018 and was preceded in death by her husband William E. Berg.
She graduated high school from Holy Angels Academy in Richfield, Minnesota in 1953. She graduated from University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1958 with a BA in Teaching. She worked for 40+ years as an elementary school teacher in Minnesota, California and Oregon. She was an accomplished musician and artist, and she was very active in her local churches. She sang or played piano in many choirs, as she was a talented piano player and singer.
After she retired in 1992, she volunteered with many local churches, charities, and associations, including St. Mary’s by the Sea, St. Frederics, the Nehalem Community Center, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Her hobbies were her arts, including sewing and painting, and many other paper crafts and handcrafts.
She is survived by her siblings Marlene (Ken) Wright, Dean (Jeanette) Hibben, and Duane (Susie) Hibben, along with her children Heidi (Craig) Underhill, Heather (Tim Couch) Berg, Holly (Marcus) Jankowski, and Eric (Kim) Berg. She had 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild that will all miss her dearly.
A Rosary and Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 starting at 10:30 AM at St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens, Oregon.
