Geraldine June Comstock's Obituary
Geraldine "Geri" June Comstock
August 23, 1928 ~ September 13, 2015
Our loving Grams, died peacefully in her sleep, at her home, in St. Helens, Oregon on September 13, 2015. She had just celebrated her 87th birthday surrounded by her family. She was born, on August 23rd, 1928 to the late Stewart and Callie (Oller) Church in Chinook, Washington.
Geri was the epitome of a loving caring passionate wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and community member. She spent a great portion life raising her children, grand children, and great grand children. During her younger years she was an avid motorcycle rider enjoying many trips to Sturgis and across the United States. She also spent many hours hunting and fishing in the Pacific Northwest. She always found the humor in a situation, each time she saw you she greeted you with a kiss, and she was in every aspect a caretaker of all.
Geri was a laborer at heart; she was always busy. She worked in the Cannery at Chinook for over 10 years when she was young. Up until her passing Geri enjoyed taking care of her house, yard, and wildlife. You would often see her taking her trash to the dump in the back of her car, tending to a burning fire, riding her lawn mower around her property, or stocking food for her deer, squirrels, birds, cats, and raccoons. She also loved to watch game shows and crochet. She often spread her love of crocheting to all of her family, their friends, and others in the community with endless gifts and keepsakes.
Later in life Geri was able to enjoy a yearly trip to Mexico. She loved to spend time on the beach and getting to know the locals and their culture. Although her main love of life, remained, her family, especially the babies. Geri was present at all of her great-grandchildren’s births and took great pride in all of her family.
Geri’s endless compassion, love, ability to make you comfortable, and zest for life will live on in the hearts and souls of all she touched.
Geri is survived by Cranda (Rick) Westerdahl, of MX and Portland; Kathy (Pete) Williamson, of Warren. She is also survived by grandchildren Cindy (Fritz) Westerdahl, Laura (Al) Ochosa, Aaron (Karri) Williamson, Katey(Jeff) Williamson-Thayer and her great grand children Jordan, Keegan, Katie, Brooke, Sophia, and Milo.
Geri will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of her wonderful life will be held on Sunday October 18, 2015 at Calvary Chapel Fellowship in St. Helens following church services.
