Geraldine Marie Meyers

Geraldine Marie Meyers was born on September 18, 1924 in Woodlake, California. She moved to Scappoose, Oregon, when she was 12 years old and graduated from Scappoose High School in 1942.
That same year she married Gerald Meyers. They were married for 50 years and had four children: Phyllis, Mark, Timothy, and Christine. They had 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald.
Geraldine was involved in many community activities including the Columbia County Election Board, Scappoose Historical Society and Board of Directors-Columbia County League of Women Voters.
She was also on the Columbia County Community Action and Help Boards. She was honored as Scappoose First Citizen in 1998 and volunteered as a greeter at the Columbia County Courthouse the past few years.
Geraldine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1943 and served in numerous capacities. She always helped others as needed and was loved by her family and many close friends.
There will be a Private Graveside Service at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose.
A Memorial Service will be held afterwards at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church, 51737 Columbia River Highway, Scappoose, OR 97056.
