Obituary of Glen "Skully" Allan Waits
Glen passed away at the age of 57 in Portland on May 11, 2012, he was 57 years old.
Glenn was born July 2, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to Glen and Barbara Lane Waits, the eldest of four children. The family moved to Scappoose area when he was in 7th grade attending Peterson Grade School and where he graduated from in the class of 1973.
Glen was a good size kid and played football as a lineman, lettering all three years he played. After high school Glen went to college to receive his basic skills as a brick layer, he became a Journeyman Bricklayer with local #1 and later was an independent contractor working from 1981 until 2011. Glen also worked on the Alaska Pipeline for several years.
Throughout his life Glen was a very generous and caring man often times having people live with him that were less fortunate than he. He volunteered his skills as a bricklayer with his engineering skills on the St. Helens Amphitheater and set up the planter system at the Oxford House.
Glen is survived by his children; Brook Waits of Clatskanie, Chance Waits of Rainier and Sidney Waits of Redmond, grandson; Carter James Lee Foster, siblings; Wanda Fournier of Cathlamet, Washington, Richard Waits of Longview and Tonya Collins of Collinsville, IL.
Celebration of Life gathering will be held, 10am, Saturday, June 2nd, Scappoose Foursquare Church, 33404 SW JP West Rd.
