Glenn Chalmers of Forest Grove, Oregon died on September 12, 2016 at the age of 93. Glenn was born on April 7, 1923 in Leamington, Ontario, Canada to Gordon and Ina (White) Chalmers. He spent many years as a farmer on the family farm. In 1942, Glenn met Esther Grant, and they married on February 19, 1944. Glenn served in the Canadian Navy during World War II.
After their two daughters were born, Glenn fulfilled his dream to move to California. In 1956, the family of four piled into the car, and drove to Los Angeles, where they settled. It was then that he retired, selling the park, and they began traveling around the country in their RV until 1996 at which time they stopped traveling, and settled in Santa Maria, California.
During his life, Glenn was a member of the Elks Club, he served on the school board in Leamington, and he and Esther were long time members of the Methodist Church, wherever they lived.
Throughout his life, his passions include building cars, building houses, including a log house in Port Angeles, Washington. He loved playing golf and building and flying model airplanes.
As he began to have increasing health problems the couple moved to Hillsboro, Oregon in 2010 , to be closer to their daughter, Linda, who is a nurse.
