Gloria Dawn Nelson's Obituary
Gloria Dawn Nelson was born May 29, 1940 in Bend, Oregon, the daughter of David Ragnvald and Jeanne Achsa Moorehead Johnson and died May 13, 2004 at the Meadow Park Care Center, St. Helens. Gloria is survived by her children, Lance Jay Whipple of Layton, UT, Lisa Dawn Bishop of St. Helens, Theresa Ann Wright of Tillamook, OR and Nancy Jeanne Tischner of Rochester, NY; sister Lynne Loughner of Illinois and 14 grandchildren. She was married to Jay Whipple in 1962 and Robert Nelson in 1976. She worked many years at Rod Norwood and Assoc Insurance that later became Insurance Services Northwest, St. Helens. She was very active in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she played the organ and led the choir for many years an also taught Sunday School and worked with the youth. She very much loved her crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting and many other crafty things. She very much loved her pets, cats and dogs, all deceased. She also had a very good indoor green thumb and gave her plants much love.
