Gordan D. Leever's Obituary
Gordon D. Leever was born on August 21, 1924 in Portland, OR. to Floyd B. & Evelyn Melody Leever.
He died at a Longview hospital on May 18, 2005 at the age of 80.
After his formal education he served in the US Coast Guard in WWII as a deep sea diver in the North Pacific. He received additional education following the war. He started at Boise in 1950 and retired as the maintenance supervisor in 1980.
He married Irene Schneibel in 1944 in Portland, OR., they moved to St. Helens in 1946. They moved to Rainier in 1987 living there until present.
He was a life member, former commander and chaplain of VFW Post #1909. Charter member of the local ''OFC'' club. He loved the outdoors and recreation, square dancing, woodworking, birdwatching, his shitzu kids-''Rocket & Mikey'', his home, family and friends.
Survived by wife: Irene Leever, 3 daughters and son-in-laws: Gloria & Joe Burnham; Barbara & Jerry Keith; Patricia & Dan Boursaw all of Rainier, OR.; 1 brother: Francis Leever of Kent, WA.; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous step and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many who adopted him.
Preceded in death by a brother Floyd Leever in '02.
