Hazel Elma Ricker's Obituary
Hazel Elma Ricker passed away on Feb. 26. She was 92.
Hazel was born on Sept. 14, 1919, in St. Cloud, Minn., to James Arthur and Ina Harrington Pengra, the second of six children. Her family moved to St. Helens in 1925, where she graduated from high school with the class of 1937.
Hazel married Clifford Benjamin Ricker in Vancouver, Wash., on Aug. 30, 1940. They had 55 years of a wonderful marriage; Cliff preceded her in death in 1995.
They were members of the First Lutheran Church of St. Helens. Hazel took pleasure in being home for her family and enjoyed her time reading, cooking, gardening and watching "The Lawrence Welk Show."
She is survived by her sons, Dean Emily Ricker of St. Helens, Gary Ricker of St. Helens and Larry Ricker of Portland; grandchildren April Travis Messenger and Stephanie Ricker; great-grandchildren Abby and Kalani Messenger and Michaela Lloyd; and brother, Bill Pengra.
Funeral services will be held on March 3 beginning at 11 a.m., at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens.
