Helen Mary Cholick's Obituary
Helen (Mazour) Cholick was reunited with her husband Fred on April 29, 2019. They lived on their farm on Sauvie Island together for 57 years before Fred passed in 2003.
Helen lived in Nebraska until she was 12, when the family moved to Scappoose, Oregon. She graduated from Scappoose High School. She married Fred Cholick in 1946 and became a farmer’s wife.
Helen was a homemaker, helped Fred on the farm, was a member of St. Birgitta’s Catholic Church, Sauvie Island Grange, and Sauvie Island Knitters. For many years, she worked at Teeny’s Department Store in St. John’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred; and brothers Victor, Lester, Joe and Bernard Mazour. She is survived by daughter Mary (Cholick) Trupp (Lynn), son Fred Cholick (Cathy), and daughter Lynn (Cholick) Bullock (Roger). Grandchildren Heidi Keller, Mark Trupp, Audrey Folwell, Matt Cholick, Gina Cholick, Nathan Bullock, and Travis Bullock and great grandchildren, Michael Keller, Brett Keller, Taylor Trupp, Jake Trupp, Hailey Keller, River Lynn Folwell, Libby Bullock, Charlie Bullock and Asher Bullock and great great grandchild, Maysyn Keller.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Birgitta’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Monday May 6; preceded by the Rosary at 10:30 AM. Luncheon will be served after mass in the church hall. Interment will follow at Columbia Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Sauvie Island Grange Scholarship Fund, St. Birgitta’s Catholic Church or Legacy Hopewell House.
