Helen Louise Jackson's Obituary
Helen Louise Anderson was born March 24, 1923 to John and Selma Anderson in Clatskanie, Oregon. The youngest of four children, she spent a happy childhood on her parents farm, with many family members living nearby. She attended Mayger Downing Elementary School and graduated from Clatskanie High School.
On march 16, 1943, Helen married Eugene Jackson in Martinez, California, shortly before his deployment overseas during WWII. They were married for 70 years.
After the war, they built their home on Scappoose Creek and raised 3 daughters. They continued to live there for 55 years.
In 2003 they moved to Cedar Mill area to be near family. Eugene passed away in 2013, and Helen then moved to Avamere Bethany where she established a new life for herself, making friends and enjoying activities there.
Helen Loved gardening and flowers, especially fuchsias. She enjoyed oil painting and sewing. She passed away at the age of 95.
She is predeceased by her husband Eugene and daughter, Donna Kennedy. She is survived by daughters: Dolores Findley (Ken) Portland, Oregon. Candace Allison (Steve) Hillsboro, Oregon, son-in-law James Kennedy, Beaverton, Oregon. Five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services at Columbia Memorial Garden October 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM, luncheon to follow at Scappoose Public Library.
