Herbert F. Daugherty was born on November 8, 1928 in Illinois to Franklin & Edna May Chandler Daugherty.
He died at a St. Helens care center on December 3, 2006 at the age of 78.
He was educated and lived in California before moving to Astoria 25 years ago. He has lived in St. Helens for the past 18 years.
He married Celith West in St. Helens in 1992.
He was a self-employed junkman who enjoyed fishing and coin collecting.
Survivors include: Wife: Celith West-Daugherty of St. Helens; Stepchildren: Timothy Miller of Denver, CO.; Charles Miller of Lamore, CA.; Christopher, Donald, Daniel & Teresa Miller all of St. Helens; Christine Santini of Napa, OR.; grandson-Robert Swehla; 19 grandchildren: 1 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by stepson: Vernon Miller '06; 2 sisters in '96-Helen Dougherty, Marie Putty-'96.
