Howard W. Olsen was born on April 26, 1931 in Aberdeen, WA. to Albert L. Olsen, Sr. & Zella E. Nye
Olsen.
He died at his home in St. Helens on August 12, 2008 at the age of 77.
He attended schools and graduated from St. Helens High school in 1949. He married Karen Hagquist in Warren, OR. on January 19, 1957. He has lived in the area all of his life.
He was a marine engineering manager for Brix Maritime from 1969-1993.
Longtime member of the Society of Portland Engineers, member of Traveling Beavers & a St. Helens area based R.V. Club. He enjoyed traveling with the R.V., fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include: Wife: Karen Olsen of St. Helens; Children: Patty Richard of Vancouver, WA.; Douglas Olsen of Hillsboro; Brothers: Albert L. Olsen, Jr. of Rockaway Beach, OR.; Robert L. Olsen of Florence, OR.; 4 grandchildren.
Funeral Service: Friday, August 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church-St. Helens, Oregon.
Committal service & crypt entombment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Mausoleum-Scappoose, Oregon
