Ione May Jones' Obituary
Ione was born in International Falls, Minnesota on June 18, 1937 and passed away on June 13, 2018 at the age of 80. She lived there until the age of 7, when she moved to Oregon with stays in Tillamook, Coos Bay and Portland until the 1948 Vanport Flood, then relocating to Scappoose. She met and married the love of her life Clifford on May 1, 1954, they were married legally for 50 years but in her heart until the day she died and beyond (64 years). During those many long years they had 3 children, Janet Jones (Mason), Judy Jones (Sisco, Schneider), Connie Jones (Harrington, Faist). She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
Ione worked at Scappoose Industries, then moving on to Intel to spend 15 years until retirement. She had several things she enjoyed including family, camping, fishing, cooking, crocheting and always loved to entertain. She was a volunteer at the Scappoose Bread Store for several years and loved to hold all the babies.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday June 23, 2018 at 2:30pm at Columbia Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Elk’s Lodge. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Scappoose Senior Center.
