He died on May 9, 2004 at his home in Scappoose, OR. at the age of 83.
Moved from Casper, WY. to Scappoose, OR. in 1928.
Lifelong resident of Scappoose, OR
He was in the US Navy during WWII-survivor of Pearl Harbor. He received 4 bronze stars and 4 silver stars and 3 campaign medals. He was stationed in 16 different engagements.
He married Heloise on July 16, 1944 in Warren, OR.
He worked for Rose Valley Pallet Co. in Scappoose, Ret. in 76.
His interests included caring for his family, loved the outdoors, enjoyed playing the guitar, violin and accordian.
Survived by: Wife: Heloise Akeson of Scappoose, OR.; Daughter: Pauline Paddock of Rainier; Sons: Douglas Akeson of Eugene, OR. Lawrence Akeson of Scappoose, OR.; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-5 Wednesday at Columbia Funeral Home-St. Helens, OR.
Funeral Service: Thursday May 13, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Grace & Peace Fellowship Church-Scappoose and Private family committal service & vault interment: Bethany Memorial Cemetery-Warren, OR.
