James Irvin Julian's Obituary
James Julian of Columbia City passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 28th. He was 85 years of age. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
James was born February 21, 1926 at Indianapolis, Indiana to John Emsley and Gladys Lucille Foxall Julian. He was the elder of two sons. Raised in Indiana he graduated from Cornell and Purdue Universities as well as Wesleyan University. He served in the United States Navy during WW II and was honorable discharged as a Lieutenant J.G in 1956.
James married the love of his life Marion Elizabeth Yates in Chicago, Illinois on June 7, 1947. They have had over 64 years of happiness together.
James retired in 1994 at the age of 68 after a life time as an engineer in the paper manufacturing industry. They moved to Columbia City, Oregon about two and half years ago to be with family.
James is survived by his wife Marion, children; John Julian of Columbia City, Philip of Dunkirk, NY, Lynn Julian – Warda of White haven, PA, Steven Julian of Denver, CO, Ladine Lipinski of Pinehurst, NC and James S. Julian of St. Marys, PA, 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His brother John "Jack" Julian preceded him in death.
