James N. Burgoyne's Obituary
James N. Burgoyne was born on February 1, 1915 in Stevensville, MT. to James & Lola Caples Burgoyne.
He died at a care facility in Portland on May 18, 2006 at the age of 91.
He moved to the Salem area in 1925 where he attended and graduated from hi school in 1933. He was a 3 year letterman in track which he held a district record for three years. He moved to the Portland area where he met and married Eleanor in 1937, they moved to St. Helens in 1943 until present.
He owned a service station for a short time, then worked for Preistly Trucking from '34-'39. He owned his own trucking line in Hood River for a few years. His last job was with Farney Trucking Co. from '43-'76.
They were members of First Lutheran Church and his enjoyments included fishing.
Survivors include: Wife: Eleanor Burgoyne of St. Helens, a daughter Elizabeth Ann Thompson preceded him in death in '99.
Funeral service: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church-St. Helens
Committal service & vault interment: Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
