James Ragnar Pylkki's Obituary
James Ragnar Pylkki age 77 of Scappoose, Oregon passed away June 29, 2024 at his residence with his wife Joyce, by his side. James (Jim) was born October 13, 1946 in Omak, Washington to Ragnar and Betty (Mattsen) Pylkki. He grew up and attended school in Battle Ground graduating with the class of 1964. In 1967 Jim joined the United States Army Reserves. He served as a medical corpsman and earned a sharpshooter badge.
On February 14, 1993, Jim married Joyce in Portland, Oregon. They lived in North Portland until 2006 when they moved out to Scappoose in Columbia County. Jim worked at the St. Helens Golf Course. He worked in the Pro Shop for 10 years. Before moving to Columbia County Jim worked in sales for American Racing, selling custom wheels. He loved old classic cars and golfing.
He is survived by his wife Joyce and two of his children; Son, Eric Pylkki and Daughter, Krista King. Jim had 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His son Marc Pylkki preceded him in death in 2021.
