James R. Randolph's Obituary
James R. "Russ" Randolph was born on September 10, 1915 in Summers, Arkansas to James C. & Dora C. Roberson Randolph.
He died at a St. Helens care center on August 16, 2008 at the age of 92.
He was educated in Summers, Arkansas. He married Bertha Jones on March 29, 1941 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. In August of 1942 he went into the Army serving until January of 1946. After the war they lived in Cinncinnati, Arkansas, moving to St. Helens in 1952.
He moved to St. Helens to be closer to other family and went to work for Kaiser Gypsum, working for 25 years and retiring in 1977.
His enjoyments included playing golf and pool, his walks, gardening, bird hunting, horses and family. He was a member of the St. Helens VFW, Kaiser Gypsum golf team and the Old Time Fiddlers Association,
which they attended the national competition in Weiser, Idaho for a number of years.
Survivors include: Wife: Bertha Randolph of St. Helens; Children: Russena Holmes of St. Helens; Sherry Cupp of Redmond, OR.; Faren Russell of Crooked River Ranch, OR.; Janice Randolph of Banks, OR.; James Ross Randolph of St. Helens, OR.; Sister: Bonnie Earhart of Holden, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
Graveside service & vault interment: Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery.
Reception to follow at Columbia Tribute Center.
