Jane Day Steward's Obituary
Jane Day Steward, widow of Dr. Byron Steward, died on December 21st. She was 92. She was a graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon and lived in St. Helens for 59 years. She was born October 30, 1913 in Newberg, Oregon to Percy and Lorene Day. She greatly appreciated and supported the arts, including opera, symphony, ballet, live theater and OPB. She loved reading, poetry, travel, caligraphy, geology and gardening. Jane Steward is survived by her three children, James Byron Steward, Claudia Christine Steward and Constance Joan Steward all of California and a niece, Karen Jane Loveridge and 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Day Tiffany. Memorial Services were held, Tuesday, 12/27/05 at Columbia Funeral Home with interment at the Masonic Cemetery, St. Helens. Memorial donations may be made tohe First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
