Jane C. Hart's Obituary
Jane C. Hart of Columbia City, Oregon was born to David and Lulu Haile (Blair) in Fresno, California on February 26, 1914 and died April 8, 2014 at the age of 100. Her family, including 7 siblings, lived in Soquel, California, where Jane was baptized at the Congregational Church.
During WWII, Jane moved to San Francisco to help with the war effort, where she transported injured soldiers by ambulance from returning hospital ships to Letterman Hospital. Through the years, she recalled many experiences from that time.
Following the war, Jane met and married Dick Hart and the family moved to Tracy, California, and then to the Ross Valley where she resided until 1998 before moving to Oregon. The Harts were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo, California. Mrs. Hart adored her large family and served on numerous community committees and projects.
Mrs. Hart is survived by her son Timothy R. Hart (Nancy), daughters Linda Jill Hall and Sally J. Phillips (Jim), and 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Hart, daughter Danya Montoya, and son-in-law Gary F. Hall.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Columbia Funeral Home, St. Helens, Oregon on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
