Janice Ruth Jurkiewicz's Obituary
Janice Ruth Jurkiewicz passed away peacefully at home in St. Helens, Oregon, on July 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born the eldest of five siblings, Janice grew up in Columbia City. During her time at St. Helens High School, she met the love of her life, S. Michael Jurkiewicz. The two were married on April 4, 1974, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter.
Janice devoted her life to raising their children—Matt Williams, Samantha Jurkiewicz, Tabatha Stratton, and Andrea Cullen—as well as caring for their children's friends, grandchildren, and others through fostering. Her nurturing spirit touched many lives.
Creative and full of life, Janice found joy in sewing, baking, crocheting, and surprising those around her with playful antics—often hiding behind doors to jump out with a laugh. Her vibrant personality was unmistakable; she was known for wearing tie-dye and proudly sporting a purple stripe in her hair.
She is survived by her siblings Thomas Finney, David Finney, and Sharon VanMeter; her children Matt Williams, Tabatha Stratton, and Andrea Cullen; her grandchildren Jenna Jurkiewicz, Jaden Jurkiewicz, Christina Wallace, James Fleming, Hayley Fleming, Cheyenne Jurkiewicz, Rylee Luper, Austin Abraham, Alex Williams, and Carley Williams; and her great-grandchildren Malakai Wallace and Weston Wallace.
Janice's legacy of love, humor, and kindness will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
