Jean H. Lawrence's Obituary
Jean H. Lawrence was born on January 21, 1920 in Hayward, Wisconsin to Harry & Martha Christianson Cornick.
She died at a Portland hospice center on October 8, 2007 at the age of 87.
Jean attended schools and graduated from Hayward High School in 1938.
She was in the Army from 1943-1945 as a rosey the riviter.
Jean married Max Lawrence in Vancouver, Washington on June 3, 1946. They have lived in Columbia County for 61 years, in St. Helens since 1960.
She and Max ran the McNulty service station for 2 years and she was a homemaker.
Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang saprano solo in the choir. She was also a life member of the VFW and was president of the VFW Auxillary, member of the Moose Auxillary and the Ladies Golf Association.
Her special interests included singing in the Sweet Adelines and the Columbia County Corale, square dancing, delivering meals on wheels.
Survivors include: Husband: Max Lawrence of St. Helens; Children: Valerie Blackmore & Jeff Lawrence bother of St. Helens; Jill Lawrence of Tigard, OR.; Brother: Ray Cornick of Temecula, CA.; Many nieces & nephews; preceded in death by daughter: Linda-'67.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church-St. Helens.
