Jean M. Driscoll-Nelson's Obituary
Jean M. Driscoll-Nelson was born on March 1, 1925 in Liberty Mills, Indiana to Herschel and Marie Kach Kissinger. At the age of 84, she passed over peacefully in her home, Hope House, where she was surrounded by her loving friends and family on April 14, 2009.
She attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing, where she received training to be a registered nurse with an emphasis in pediatrics and OBGYN. In her career she traveled to many states including Hawaii, New Hampshire, Montana, California, and Florida. After about 50 years she retired in 1990.
When she was about 25 years old, she met and married Joseph Dennis Driscoll with whom she had 4 boys and 3 girls and was married to him for 33 years.
When she moved to St. Helens, Oregon in 1991, she met and married Clifford J. Nelson. They lived in Deer Island for many happy years until Clifford passed over. After his passing, she resided in St. Helens near her daughter Kristine Lambert and many friends.
She was raised a catholic. She enjoyed cats, reading, musicals, plays, and most especially her career as an RN.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who had the chance to be blessed by her presence.
Jean is survived by her 7 children: Kristine Lambert, Jennifer McKee, Leslie, Marc, Matthew, and Tim Driscoll, Julie Riley, and her 5 grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 3:00 pm.
