Jeanette Mundy's Obituary
Jeanette Mundy of Deer Island, Oregon passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Jeanette was born January 12, 1949 in Portland, Oregon to Arnold (Arnie) & Muriel Grotte. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, where she met and married Richard (Rick) Mundy on July 15, 1967. During their marriage they had 3 children and lived in Portland, Oregon until they moved out to Deer Island, Oregon during the summer of 1979 to their forever home.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents’ Arnold and Muriel Grotte of Deer Island and her brother Gary Grotte of Illinois. She is survived by her husband Richard Mundy, their 3 children; Brandi Bonney, Nawnie Hack & Thor Mundy, along with their 8 grandchildren; Seth Bonney, Chelsi Bonney, Jared Bonney, Tyler Hack, Rylie Mundy, Saraie Mundy, Chaise Mundy & Bronte Mundy. As well as her brothers’ Jerry Grotte and Darwin Grotte.
Jeanette was a loving wife, amazing mom and grandmother, who loved her family with her whole heart and gave of herself selflessly, without judgment or question. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and going to her grandkids’ sports & school events. She also enjoyed being a member of St. Helens Elks Lodge #1999, where she was an active volunteer for fundraisers and events for our community.
Jeanette has positively impacted so many with her beautiful smile and personality, she will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14th at 3:30pm at the St. Helens Elks Lodge located at 350 Belton Road, St. Helens, OR 97051. All are welcome. There will be a potluck following the service at the Lodge, so please feel free to bring your favorite dish to share, as we gather to share our memories of Jeanette.
