Jeffrey A. Kuiper's Obituary
Jeffrey Alan Kuiper of Scappoose passed away peacefully Dec. 9, 2011, at OHSU in Portland with Christmas music playing in the background. He was 48.
Mr. Kuiper was born Feb. 28, 1963, in St. Helens to Fred Kuiper and Sara Barker-Kuiper, and was the youngest of three children.
Educated at Scappoose schools, he graduated with the class of 1981.
Employed at Parr Lumber for 12 years, he then started Kuiper Lumber in 2007.
He was a dedicated father and an active community member.
One of his greatest attributes was being a coach for his two daughters' softball and basketball teams as they were growing up, and throughout high school. His proudest moments were watching his daughters play sports.
Being a big football enthusiast, he loved the Miami Dolphins, Oregon Ducks, and was a closet Beaver fan. He enjoyed spending his Fall Saturdays with friends and family watching the Duck football games.
Father, best friend, coach, and leader, he was loved by many and admired by all. His presence will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his daughters, Tia and Kara Kuiper; mother, Sara Kuiper; step father, Marty Sells; sister, Rhonda Fountain; brother, Jerry Kuiper; friend, Larry Johnson; favorite dog, Dudley; and many other friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Warren Community Fellowship Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Scappoose branches of the St. Helens Federal Community Credit Union and Chase Bank.
